Salary range: 

£43,434 to £51,799 per annum

Full time, fixed term until December 2022 (covering maternity leave)

We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity to join the University of Suffolk as a Senior Research Fellow in the Institute of Social Justice and Crime. One of the key research themes and areas of expertise of the Institute is domestic abuse, offering the successful applicant the chance to be at the forefront of local, national and international research.

The Senior Research Fellow post will be based at the Waterfront Campus at the University of Suffolk, Ipswich. The post holder will work under the supervision of the Director, Professor Miranda Horvath, and closely with Centre for Abuse Research staff, other University of Suffolk colleagues and Domestic Abuse Research Network (DARNet) members. We currently have a number of high profile and sensitive research projects in progress including on perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual harassment in public spaces and multi-agency risk assessment conferences. This post provides the unique opportunity to lead on these projects as well as developing bids for new research opportunities.

The post holder will possess a PhD or extensive nationally recognized professional expertise in domestic abuse, have experience of leading on research publications, projects and funding bids. They should have the flexibility to work within diverse teams, while demonstrating self-motivation and time management skills and the ability to work, often to tight deadlines, with limited supervision. The post holder will be expected to have a strong research background including experience in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, experience of leading research teams and projects with sensitivity and creative problem solving, and extensive understanding of safeguarding, ethics and quality assurance in research.
