Please help #KeepCounsellingConfidential
We’re getting in touch today to ask you to please amplify our work with Rape Crisis England & Wales and the Centre for Women’s Justice in response to new CPS guidance that will stop rape victims and survivors from accessing vital therapy. Read our response here.
The CPS guidance increases the chances that rape survivors’ private therapy notes will be accessed by prosecutors and used to ‘discredit’ them in court. This will deter many women from seeking this life-changing and life-saving support.
The CPS’ decision will dramatically reduce protection and rights to privacy for survivors of rape and sexual violence – many of whom experience severe, wide ranging and long term trauma.
We would be hugely grateful if you could tweet and/or post on other social media about this – we have some suggested tweets and graphics in this comms kit, also attached for easier access. Thank you so much already!
In sisterhood and solidarity,
