Northern Ireland Strategy on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls

Dear Research Network Members

The Northern Ireland Executive has launched work on a Strategy on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG) which it is intended will be evidence-based and co-designed. An initial Call for Views with the public has just closed and work is under way on an underpinning research strategy. We have been reaching out to relevant academics, so as to have access to the widest network and most recent scholarship in the field, and would be grateful if you would post this notice to your network.

We would like to hear from academics in UK and Irish Universities and wider afield, in any discipline, who are undertaking research which may be of relevance to our Strategy. We are in particular interested in research on the prevalence and causes of VAWG, the effectiveness of measures taken to counter VAWG (in the UK and Ireland or elsewhere) and specific work on VAWG in Northern Ireland. However, our interests are not limited to these topics.

We also wish to procure research on different aspects of VAWG, and would like to publicise the publication of tenders through your Network, among other methods.

I would be grateful if you would post this mail to your network and confirm that you have done so.

Any of the network who wish to get in touch can do so by contacting me at the following e-mail address – EVAWG@executiveoffice-ni.gov.uk
