Over the past three years, the SEREDA research team, led by Professor Jenny Phillimore FAcSS, has conducted extensive research to understand the nature and incidence of SGBV experienced by women refugees who have fled conflict and are residing in countries of refuge, in order to inform policy making and offer guidance to practitioners and service providers.
At this event, Professor Phillimore and UK Lead Dr Lisa Goodson and Research Fellow, Sandra Pertek will present their research findings, informed by interviews with forced migrant SGBV survivors, service providers and other local and national organisations and share their key policy recommendations.
The event will bring together policymakers, practitioners, researchers and thought leaders who are working hard to support forced migrants, to discuss how we can best work together to achieve our shared objectives of improving the lives of SGBV survivors by taking action and mainstreaming SGBV and trauma sensitivity into the asylum system and health service delivery.
